Saturday

So in the Todd house, Saturday is “Adventure Day”.  At the beginning of the year, we talked about the fact that there are only 52 weeks in a year.  That’s only 52 Saturdays, 52 chances for adventure.  When we first moved to the Seattle area in September, I was worried it was going to be hard to find new adventures.  But so far the Seattle area has been a land of adventure opportunity.

I found this place on the side of the road one day while I was lost on my way home from the grocery store. It's just two park benches and a drinking fountain. Totally random jewel of a find

Hidden bridges are magical. (It's a little thing behind the fence. That path was temporarily fenced off for erosion control)

It still doesn't seem real to me that I am only a few minutes away from the ocean now!

So… the two park benches and the drinking fountain lead to this park that goes all the way to the beach? That is a great find!

    • Amanda says:

Well the two park benches just look out over a steep wildlife edge to the bay. Josh had heard of Richmond Beach Park from a co-worker and knew we were close. So we got in the car and drove there. But it does wind down this massive hill all the way to the beach and all along the winding path are stops that have things like swings, a playground, and workout area, a beautiful party pavilion, complete with grills and picnic tables everywhere. Then the path ends with a bridge over the train tracks to the beach!

I can’t wait to hear JJ tell me about the beach. I don’t know if the weather will be good enough in November to go see it with him.

    • Amanda says:

Meh… Just got to bundle up! I met a woman at Edmonds beach who said she bought her two year old those fisherman water wader pants and he just goes right out into the water all year round.
